There are many Android users who for one reason or another, choose Cortana over Google Now. Unlike the latter, Cortana does have some personality. Microsoft has made Cortana available for both Android and iOS, and a new update found in the Google Play Store takes the app to version 2.5.0. The only new feature, according to the change list, allows Android users to access Cortana from the lock screen. This was originally discussed last month, and now the new feature is here.
If you already have Cortana installed on your Android phone, you can get the update by opening the Google Play Store and clicking on the hamburger menu on the left of the Google Play search bar. Click on My apps & games and scroll down to Cortana. Click on "update," and the job is done. If you don't have Cortana installed on your phone, open the Google Play Store and click on Cortana using the search bar. From there, you should be able to install the virtual personal assistant on your handset.
In the play store the beta version is available for Cortana.
