What comes after the Moto G5 and the G5 Plus? Well, Lenovo that now owns the Moto brand, is preparing to launch the Moto C and the Moto C Plus in India. Although the company has remained tight-lipped about its future product line-up, the India Today Tech has learnt that it will launch the budget phones Moto C, and possibly Moto C Plus, in India in June.
Lenovo is yet to finalise a specific date for the launch of the Moto C, but it is certain that the company will bring it to the Indian market in June and will position it in a price bracket where devices like the Redmi 4A from Xiaomi also sell. In other words, the Moto C is likely to come in at a price of less than 8000.
While a previous leak from Evan Blass of @evleaks fame gave us a hazy picture of the Moto C and C Plus, now the sources have confirmed to the India Today Tech that the phones will reach the Indian market in June this year.
Not much is known about the Moto C and the Moto C Plus, although there have been some leaks and rumours. Also, it is not known how these phones will be finally priced but their rumoured specifications hint that these are going to be budget phones.
A 360-degree video featuring the Moto C and Moto C Plus was earlier published by Android Authority in collaboration with OnLeaks, suggesting that two phones would have similar design with just some change. T Plus variant seem to have a rear camera bump, similar to how the case was with the Moto G4 Plus and the Moto G4.
The video exposed the phone from several angles giving viewers a peek into the rear design of the phones. There could be rear-mounted speaker grill with a headphone jack and micro-USB port placed at the top. The power and volume rocker buttons are positioned at the right edge while the company logo is seen below the rear camera of Moto C in the leaked pictures.
Moto C and Android Nougat
It is almost certain that like other Moto phones these two will also run Android Nougat out of the box. In fact, this would give them a serious edge on the phones like the Redmi 4A, which are still powered by two years old Android Marshmallow. In comparison, to MIUI on Xiaomi phones, and other third-party custom skins found on budget phones, clean and modern Android Nougat on Moto C could come as a real boon for consumers in the budget segment. Since the days of Moto E and Android One, consumers in this segment have not seen a phone with stock and latest version of Android.Moto C possible specs
Colour options for the Moto C may include Gold, Silver, Red and black. The two devices are expected to sport 5-inch display and they will come powered by an entry-level processor from either Qualcomm or MediaTek.There are rumours that Moto C will come with 1GB RAM with 16GB while C Plus could house 2GB RAM with 32GB internal storage. Moto C is also expected to come with a 8MP camera on the rear with LED flash technology. On the front, the phone could sport a 2-MP selfie-shooter. Moto C is rumoured to come with 3,800mAh battery.
