Data wars don't seem confined to the smartphones. With Jio set to enter the broadband fray in the next few months, telecom companies seems to be ensuring that they have competitive plans to deal with Jio offers.
Country's top telecom service provider Airtel has rolled out a BigByte broadband offer under which it is offering 1000GB bonus data to users for a period of eight months.
Airtel is offering a range of plans under which the users will get the extra 1000GB data. These plans will be valid till March 31 2018. Airtel's BigByte broadband plans start at ₹599 and go up to ₹1999. The plans offered, however, differ from telecom circle to circle.
The extra data can be used once the user has consumed his/her monthly limit. This means that if a user gets 60GB data per month as per his plan, then the additional 500GB data under the BigByte offer will be activated only once his monthly limit (of 60GB) is reached.
The telecom operator is offer 1000GB data of bonus data under monthly plans of ₹1299, ₹1499, ₹1799 and ₹1999.
On its official website the company said, "Upon subscription to one of the select plans under the present Offer, and upon expiry of a period of 7 days following the date of activation of their new connection, a customer shall, subject to feasibility at the point of connection, be able to enjoy additional big byte GB , in addition to the base plan chosen by them, which may be enjoyed at the same speed as per chosen base plan."
In order to apply for the offer, the users need to go to the www.airtel.in/broadband page and choose a base plan. After this, they just need to enter their number and address and request for a new broadband connection. Once done, the customer care will contact the consumer to set up the broadband connection.
