South Korean tech giant Samsung is slashing the prices on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus (64GB variant) as a Navratra special offer. Both handsets will receive a price cut of ₹4,000, which was launched at ₹57,900 and ₹64,900 respectively, bringing down the prices to ₹53,990 and ₹60,990. Furthermore, the company is offering a cashback of another ₹4,000 to HDFC Bank customers.
The 128GB variant of the S8 Plus will receive a price cut of ₹1,000 along with the cashback offer from HDFC bank. This variant has already witnessed two price cuts in the past.
According to the company, this price cut and the offer is available from Samsung itself. However, it is still not reflecting on the company's website.
Interestingly, this happens just days ahead of when the company's flagship phablet, Galaxy Note 8, will start deliveries from September 21.
The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus were launched earlier this year. The Galaxy S8 sports a 5.8-inch QuadHD+ (2960x1440) 'Infinity Display' with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 570ppi pixel density. It is powered by an octa-core Exynos Series 9 processor along with 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage. The US model comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processors.
On the optics front, the Galaxy S8 sports the same 12MP dual-pixel camera with f/1.7 aperture and OIS that was used in the Galaxy S7. There is an upgraded front-facing 8MP autofocus camera with f/1.7 aperture. Some of the connectivity features included are Wi-Fi, NFC, USB Type-C, GPS and Bluetooth 5.0.
The bigger-screen variant, Galaxy S8+ sports a 6.2-inch QuadHD+ (2960x1440) 'Infinity Display' with 529ppi pixel density. Powered by the same processor, the Galaxy S8 Plus comes with the same RAM and inbuilt storage. It is backed by a larger 3500mAh battery supporting the same wireless fast-charging technology. The camera specifics also stay similar to that of the Galaxy S8.
