Micromax partners with Vodafone launches Bharat 2 Ultra 4G phone at an effective price of ₹999.Indian mobile brand Micromax and global telecom giant Vodafone have tied up to announce the launch of Bharat 2 Ultra - a 4G smartphone at an effective price of ₹999. The phone will come bundled with a Vodafone SuperNet 4G connection.As per the company's offer, one will have to buy the smartphone at ₹2,899 and will have to recharge their new or existing Vodafone numbers with a minimum denomination of Rs 150 every month for three years.The buyer will get a cashback of Rs 900 at the end of 18 months and a cash back or ₹1,000 after the next 18 months in Vodafone "M-Pesa" wallet, thereby making the effective price of the handset ₹999.After 18 months (1.5 years) users will get ₹900 cash back and ₹1,000 after another 1.5 years. This means users will get back ₹1,900 back, which when deducted from the price tag of ₹2,899 (original price of the handset), comes to an effective price of ₹999. The cash back will be received in user's Vodafone M-Pesa wallets.he Bharat 2 Ultra sports a 4-inch WVGA display, comes powered by Spreadtrum SC9832 1.3Ghz quad-core processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB storage. It gets a 2MP rear camera with 0.3MP front camera. The device also comes with different camera modes like scene, frame and burst. The handset runs on Android Marshmallow and fuelled by a 1300 mAh battery.
Similarly, Micromax had also launched the Bharat 1, a 4G feature phone. And, teamed up with BSNL to offer unlimited data as well as unlimited voice calls.Rahul Sharma, Co-founder, Micromax, "This partnership with Vodafone will help bring in the next phase of smartphone adoption by hand-holding consumers to upgrade them from feature phones to smartphones. We believe that greater device affordability and low-cost data packs will drive increased smartphone adoption, as there is still a huge gap."
