Apple iPhone X, although unveiling a new edge-to-edge screen technology in its iPhone X, has received some mixed reactions for the 'Notch' it has on the top. While some are fine with it, others are finding it bothersome while viewing content. Some of the users have started putting wallpapers that hide the notch.
By embracing the notch, the company has indirectly encouraged app developers too to get used to it. It has clearly mentioned on the Apple Developer web page that, "Don't mask or call special attention to key display features. Don't attempt to hide the device's rounded corners, sensor housing, or indicator for accessing the Home screen by placing black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. Don't use visual adornments like brackets, bezels, shapes, or instructional text to call special attention to these areas, either."
Interestingly, the listing says the app is compatible with iPhone 5S and later models along with iPad devices as well.
The app, however, not really removes the 'Notch' as it is not possible. It simply modifies the wallpaper so that it becomes shorter and the notch hides in the black bar. It will cost users $0.99 and weighs 31.2MB.
"Notch Remover lets you remove the notch from the status bar! Notch Remover modifies your wallpaper to adjust for the notch. Check out some of the amazing results in the screenshots!" says the app description.
We are not sure how many users will download the app as it only adjusts the wallpaper instead of all the apps across the platform. It might just happen that the company pulls back the app in next few hours or days.
