Opera on Wednesday released a new browser codenamed as Reborn. The new browser comes integrated with social messenger services, allowing users to chat side-by-side as they browse. "Today, Opera becomes the first major browser to integrate social messenger services, allowing users to chat side-by-side as they browse. With the release of the new browser, codenamed "Reborn", Opera continues on the path to redefine what a web browser should be, " the company said in a statement.
The new Opera browser Reborn offers a quick access to web versions of popular messengers - Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Telegram - directly from the browser's sidebar. "Social messengers completely changed our lives by allowing us to work, discover new things and communicate at the same time," said Krystian Kolondra, head of Opera browser. "This shift has come with smartphones, but desktops and laptops, while theoretically more powerful multitasking tools, have been left behind. We believe this needs to change."
The new Opera allows user to chat with their friends while browsing. It includes a side tab for messengers allowing simultaneous browsing and chatting. There is also an option to pin the messenger tab for better multitasking. Furthermore, the browser comes with easy photo sharing ability by simply dragging any online picture to the messenger's icon . Users will also find shortcuts to instantly switch between messengers and a menu button that enables them to log out from messengers directly in the browser without having to go to the app.
With Reborn, the company has introduced some noticeable changes in the interface of the browser. The new Opera is simplified, lighter and includes elegant looking tabs. The icons look fresh and refined and also it has a refreshed speed dial with smooth animations. Opera Reborn comes with fresh look, new icons, colours, wallpapers and a touch of animation to the browser. Opera has also introduced two theme colours for the new browser- light and dark along with three new backgrounds that can be managed under Themes.
Opera browser is available for free for Windows, Mac and Linux at www.opera.com/computer and can also be downloaded from Opera.com.
Opera also introduced Neon, it concept browser earlier this year. It includes features like the ability to drag and push things around, and to even pop content from the web. One of the main highlights of the Neon is the Video pop-out feature which lets users continue to watch videos when on the other web pages. Also it has an intelligent inbuilt system which can mange tabs automatically on the basis of things like gravity and frequently-used tabs.
