Xiaomi has set a new sales record as it shipped 10 million smartphones worldwide. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun shared the news via Weibo, Chinese social media network. "We have good news to share: More than 10 million Xiaomi phones were shipped in September, marking the first time in our history we have crossed 10 million units in a single month! This means our business has achieved a new level," said Lei Jun. Jun also said that the demand of some models has outstripped the supply.
The festive sales in India added to Xiaomi's sales push as the company claims to have sold one million handsets in two days. Xiaomi claimed to have been the top-selling brand in terms of smartphones sales during Flipkart's Big Billion Day Sale. In India, Xiaomi also reached the landmark figure of 25 million handsets shipped. In the three years since Xiaomi entered the Indian market it has become a major player.
